Longevity is the Curtis Engine Difference
On May 10, 2019, Curtis Engine marked 75 years in business and celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Governor Larry Hogan and former Commerce Secretary and part-owner, Mike Gill. Like many contractors fortunate enough to reach this longevity, the company faced obstacles on the road to success. What’s kept Curtis Engine on track, says president and CEO Trip Harrison is ‘The Curtis Engine Difference’ which encompasses the dedicated, service-oriented, technical experts that serve on the team and the company’s uniqueness to the region.
Curtis Engine & Equipment Co., Inc. (Curtis Engine), is vital to the area because it focuses solely on power generation for facilities that have critical demands for continuity of operations, despite the ever-present threat of power outages, natural disasters or other causes of power failure. The firm is known in the region for its expertise in handling complex installations of large generator sets, maintaining over 4000 sets, and being the sole generator provider in all state buildings in Annapolis. Other high-profile projects include Prince George’s County Medical Center, Reagan National Airport, and Johns Hopkins University Data Center.
Curtis Engine President and CEO Trip Harrison says, “We were founded in 1944 and remain locally-owned and operated. Even though the technology of our business has changed phenomenally in the past 75 years, one facet of our success is the hard-working men and women that enable us to improve the reliability and efficiency of our customers’ equipment and operations.”
Congratulations to Curtis Engine on its 75 years of success.
