VP Caroline Paff to be honored for unrivaled commitment’ to workforce
The 2nd Annual Build Baltimore Gala will honor Sagamore Development’s Caroline Paff for the developer’s unprecedented commitment to make a long-term, sustained investment in Baltimore City.
The Gala, a fundraiser for Project JumpStart, will be held Saturday, February 25 at the Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel.
ABC Baltimore Chairman Matthew Bolyard said Sagamore’s commitment to the City was on full display this past summer during the Port Covington hearings. “As we all witnessed, Sagamore withstood unrelenting pressure to take this once-in-a-generation economic opportunity and reduce it to a series political paybacks that would only benefit a few, powerful special interest groups. Thanks to Sagamore’ s determination, the unprecedented workforce development opportunities that Port Covington represents will be open to all.”
Bolyard added that ABC recognizes there is a healthy dose of cynicism among civic and political leaders when it comes to the promises of workforce development and job-placement programs. “But through Project JumpStart, we have seen first-hand the impact a successful program can have on a person’s life.”
Bolyard said that Port Covington is “that much needed credible on-ramp that will not only positively affect the City’s long-term economic fortunes, but the lives of thousands of its residents.”
