Project JumpStart Graduate and spokesperson, Tyrone Ferrens, ABC team members and representatives of member companies, met with the U.S. Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos during ABC’s 2017 Legislative Week. The goal of the meeting was to highlight the urgent need to fill over 500,000 construction jobs through apprenticeship and additional paths to career readiness in the industry.
Ferrens, who now is an electrician with TEI, discussed his experience with Project JumpStart and how access to more careers in the construction industry can help fill the skills gap while also employing more people.
