A Launch Pad for Leaders

The ABC Young Leaders Professional Development Program is set to take off in 2024. This six-month program has been created to take young trade professionals to the next level of their careers by way of a series of seminars, personal assessments, and elite executive training. Perhaps the most valuable aspect of this course is that each student is assigned a seasoned mentor who provides invaluable guidance and shares their business expertise throughout the entire process.

The student first takes the Harrison assessment test, an online evaluation of the individual’s strengths and traits that could be improved. And halfway through the course, Harrison professionals review how the young leader has progressed, and where they could benefit by applying more effort.

Over the course of the six months, students will learn the techniques of self-leadership, negotiating skills, controlling detrimental emotions, and utilizing valuable business relationships. Last year ABC Greater Baltimore celebrated the 10th anniversary of the program by holding a reunion of previous graduates and their mentors. Many raved about their experience in the program.

Former student Shannon Syciarz, said, “I’m able to apply so many tangible lessons in my work and personal life that have been taken from this program.” Jerry Pomroy, Planning & Design Manager, TEI Construction added, “The skills and lessons taught in the Professional Development Program really do apply to the everyday life of today’s up-and-coming trade professional. It has opened up so many avenues that I just didn’t know how to access until I was in the program.”

Now is the perfect time to register students as there is a 5% tuition discount for all applications received prior to COB Friday, October 27th.

And the deadline to apply is the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, November 22nd. You can apply online at https://www.abcbaltimore.org/pdp
