Baltimore has been focused on a lot of competitions this year – We got swept up in the American League Wild Card Series but unfortunately, the Baltimore Orioles got swept as well. And the Ravens keep our pulse rates high as they continue to compete in the NFL.
But here at ABC Greater Baltimore, we’re rooting for the local winners of our Apprenticeship Program, who will now compete with the best of the best at the ABC National Crafts Championships in Las Vegas in 2025. And it was no simple road to get to that Big Game.
During our local Craft Competition last week, 4th Year Apprentices from different trades squared off to complete complex projects within a three-hour competition.
The winners were awarded for their excellence in safety practices, the proper use of tools, accuracy of blueprint interpretation, and the timeliness of completion.
Actually, the starting line of that competition began with the written test they completed, which covered topics from their first three years of their trade’s curriculum. The three local winners who will be competing in the National Crafts Championships are:
- HVAC: Evan Smith, Calvert Mechanical Solutions
- Plumbing: Michael Boston, Phillips Way, Inc
- Electrical: Emmett Langan, EAST COAST Electric
We invite you to cheer on these top-notch Apprentices as they look to get to the pinnacle of their peers in the ABC National Crafts Championships.
