Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Mar. 1-4
Fourth-year apprentices Charles Lapp and Tyler Williams will represent ABC Baltimore at the National Craft Championships, held this year March 1-4 in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. Lapp, a carpenter with CAM Construction Company and Williams, an electrician with Miles Electric, won their respective competitions here in Baltimore and then were selected by a panel of volunteer members to represent the chapter at the Championships in March.
The first National Craft Championships were held in 1987 with only a handful of participants, competing in four crafts. Nearly 30 years later, more than 2,000 men and women have competed in what has grown to become one of the industry’s best recognized and respected craft skills competitions.
Over the past 12 years, Baltimore apprentices have captured a medal ten different times, including four Gold medals. For more information on the Craft Championships go to www.nationalcraftchampionships.org.
