ABC Greater Baltimore has a bright new group of interested potential apprentices as well as students from our new Construction Education Academy Trade School we would like to introduce to you.
These young people are looking for employer apprenticeship sponsors to help move their career forward and fill the shortage of craft professionals in the Baltimore region.
On Thursday, October 28, 1-4 p.m., we will be holding a “Job-Fair” where you will have the opportunity to meet with and interview these candidates.
We are expecting between 50 and 75 candidates in attendance.
For the first time ever, we will be starting new apprenticeship classes this January. This will be an accelerated school year that will wind up sometime in June so those students can start their 2nd year with everyone else in the Fall.
Our hope is that many of these young people will be among those who will be in those classes.
We’re Looking for interested Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Sheet Metal, and Sprinkler Employers to agree to come and interview. Even if you are not quite ready to hire anyone right now, this will give you the opportunity to meet these young people so when you are ready to hire, you will have a vetted list of qualified candidates from which to choose. The interview will also give these young people invaluable experience in meeting and interviewing with commercial builders.
