Hirsch Electric takes home first place title
NATIONAL CRAFT CHAMPIONSHIPS

ABC Baltimore is pleased to announce the following accomplishments at last week’s ABC National Craft Championship:
Jacob Vitek (pictured above) with Hirsch Electric, LLC won FIRST PLACE in the Commercial/Industrial Electrical competition
Anthony Alezzy with Advanced Fire Protection Systems, LLC, won second place in the Fire Sprinkler competition. Anthony also won the Safety Award for the Fire Sprinkler Competition.
Sergiu Popa with Baldwin Mechanical Contractors, Inc., won third place in the HVAC competition.
Apprentices from five trades; electrical, HVACR, carpentry, sprinklerfitting, and plumbing represented ABC Baltimore at the National Craft Championships, held this year Mar. 19-23 in Long Beach, CA. The apprentices (listed below) won their respective competitions here in Baltimore at the local craft competition in October and then were selected by a panel of volunteer members to represent the chapter at the Championships in March.
- Electrical: Jacob Vitek, Hirsch Electric, LLC.
- HVACR: Sergiu Popa, Baldwin Mechanical Contractors, Inc.
- Carpentry: Sean Morris, Allan Myers
- Sprinklerfitting: Anthony Alezzy, Advanced Fire Protection Systems
- Plumbing: Ronald Price, Ariosa & Company, LLC.
The first National Craft Championships were held in 1987 with only a handful of participants, competing in four crafts. Nearly 30 years later, more than 2,000 men and women have competed in what has grown to become one of the industry’s best recognized and respected craft skills competitions.
