On September 27th, Larry Lopez, CEO of Green JobWorks and chair of ABC National’s Diversity Committee, testified to the U.S. House Small Business Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Tax, and Capital Access
The Subcommittee’s goal is to examine how the recent economic expansion is affecting minority-owned small businesses. The hearing’s focus is on how regulatory and tax changes have renewed small business optimism and benefited small business owners.
Lopez highlighted the positive impact the strong economy has had on the success of his business, but he also addressed the importance of looking toward the future and urged congress to pass more laws to support apprenticeship training.
“While it’s great unemployment is low, it is very difficult to be able to fill open positions if we don’t start training people,” Lopez said.
