Mayor Catherine Pugh vetoed the $15 minimum wage proposal passed last week by the City Council. The focus now turns towards gaining enough support to sustain the veto and prevent the Council from overriding.
The Council needs a 12 person vote to override the Mayor’s decision. Councilman Ed Reisinger has indicated publicly that he does not intend to vote to override, despite voting in favor of the legislation. If that is the case, the Mayor has the votes to sustain the veto.
Associated Builders and Contractors Baltimore supports the Mayor’s decision.
