MEC2 Captures 1st Ever ‘Model Member’ Award

Southway Builders won the General Contractor Project of the Year for City Arts 2 – an affordable housing community located in central Baltimore. The community provides a preference for working artists and incorporates sustainable features such as: high efficiency plumbing fixtures, CO detectors, high-albedo roof, energy efficient lighting and more! Local hiring was possible through the construction trades and Southway Builders leveraged ABC’s Project JumpStart.

EMJAY Engineering & Construction Corp. won the Specialty Project of the Year for Howard Community College – Science, Engineering & Technology Building. The facility, located in Columbia, Md., is a 146,000 square foot building that houses the latest technologies and laboratories that wills serve the needs of the educational community on campus and have the ability to meet the end user’s needs for years to come. The facility, with two chillers, two cooling towers and associated pumps and accessories, supports a network of state of the art hybrid terminal units, VAV systems, DOAS units, split systems and air handlers as well as a host of hydronic systems to serve the laboratories and classroom spaces.

Bozzuto Construction Company was awarded the ‘Members Using Members’ Award for its usage 26 ABC members during the construction of ‘Anthem House.’
