ABC Greater Baltimore’s Excellence in Construction Awards went LIVE at the Live! Casino and Hotel Maryland in mid-October.
Over 325 guests attended the 2023 EIC Awards Program where general and specialty member contractors received well-deserved recognition for their innovative, creative projects. The highlights of the evening were the Project of the Year winners. Lewis Contractors won the top prize for General Contractors for their work on Upperco Volunteer Fire Company and Schuster Concrete Construction captured the top prize for Subcontractors for their work on Palisades Garage Renovations.
Other special awards went to Southway Builders for the Members Using Members award, given to the contractor who, on a winning project, used the most ABC-affiliated subcontractors and suppliers on the job.
Southway captured the award for their work on Lexington Market. Grounded Electrical Construction captured the Model Member Award. This award recognizes the member who contributed to the highest level during that calendar year to support ABC and advance the best interests of the industry.
Many of the submitting companies have been members and a part of the EIC program for many, many years. And taking this legendary event to the LIVE Casino and Hotel breathed new life into the proceedings, generating a memorable experience for the award winners and their guests.
14 Gold, 10 Platinum, and 24 Diamond Excellence Awards were presented to entire project teams including owners, design, and engineering partners. It is, easily, the region’s most prestigious way to honor the hard work and dedication of the area’s most respected builders and contractors.
ABC encourages every member organization to nominate their best projects for the 2024 EIC ceremony. Applications are judged by impartial members of the construction industry. And the event itself is a unique and one-of-a-kind networking experience, as member contractors invite local developers, construction managers, and architects to view the award-winning craftsmanship on display and are happy to meet those responsible for this great work.
