Verve’s Annual Pie Party Serves Up a Big Donation to ABC Woman’s Scholarship Fund

The Verve Partnership’s Annual Pie Fundraiser has become a Holiday staple where building industry professionals attend what is easily the most delicious networking event of the year.

The event, the brainchild of Verve Founder and Managing Principal Kelly Ennis, has supported a broad range of charities over the years, this year chose the ABC LOGIC Scholarship for women.

The LOGIC (Ladies Organizing for Growth in Construction) scholarship recognizes the best and the brightest among the next generation of women in the construction industry. Scholarship awards are available to female high school, trade school or college students planning to pursue construction related fields of study in post-high school education.  The money awarded will be given as a cash gift to the student.

The event raised over $1300. All those monies went directly to the scholarship fund.

As a woman owned and certified business (architect) in the city and state, Ennis said they chose to donate to the LOGIC scholarship to support women in the industry. “There are far too few of us. If coordinating this donation every year helps to move the needle, even just a little bit, it’s a good thing for the industry, a good thing for ABC Baltimore and a good thing for gender diversity.”
