My blue collar roots and profound respect I have for the working middle class and the trades.
What does being a woman in construction mean to you?
As a half Hispanic American it means I am often placed in a box but there is so much opportunity for women to break glass ceilings in this industry–and it is quite exciting!
How can you help educate young women that may be considering entering the industry or that don’t know about opportunities in the industry?
Women have the ability to be extremely resourceful and it is imperative they support each other in a male dominated industry. Do not over think any decision to the point that you end up not going for it or taking the risk. Join networking groups, professional associations, and introduce yourself with confidence. More importantly, if you need help know there are women ready to lend a hand because they have already paved the way and understand what a young business woman in this industry might be experiencing.
