Last week, two ABC Baltimore member firms were awarded National Diversity Excellence Awards for their commitment to “making diversity a business priority.” Among those honored were Hensel Phelps, and Mechanical Engineering and Construction Corporation. The awards were given as part of ABC National’s 26th Annual Excellence in Construction Awards, held last week in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
“Associated Builders and Contractors honors the National Diversity Excellence Awards winners for making diversity a business priority and striving to achieve a fully inclusive and culturally competent workforce,” said 2016 ABC National Chair David Chapin, president of Willmar Electric Service, Lincoln, Neb. “These companies demonstrate their commitment to shaping an industry that is welcoming to all people where employees and suppliers are limited only by their own potential.”
The ABC National Diversity Excellence Awards recognizes members that display exemplary diversity leadership in their workforce, supply chain and community with best-in-class recruitment policies, retention practices, and training and mentoring programs.
