Group meets with Lt. Governor to discuss

Over the past several months, a task force comprised of architects and contractor members of ABC and AIA, respectively, met to compile a list of common sense recommendations on how the State can make Maryland a better place to do business. Last week, members of the task force met with Lt. Governor Boyd Rutherford to present their recommendations.

“The Administration has been very receptive to our concerns and ideas,” said Ted Jasinski, with Frederick Ward Architects. Jasinski, who is a member of the ABC Baltimore Board of Directors and heads up the Contractor/Architect Roundtable, said many of the recommendations had to do with standardizing many of the policies and procedures ¬â€œ where it makes sense ¬â€œ across the various agencies and departments. The group also made a number of recommendations as to how the State might create greater clarity and transparency when making contract awards.
