On June 8th, the Maryland Center for Construction Education & Innovation held their first ever Pathway Awards ceremony to celebrate those who have championed workforce development initiatives in the built environment this year. DIY Network’s Kayleen McCabe was the keynote speaker for the evening. She spoke on the joyful future of construction technology and about the importance of empowering young people through trade and hands-on work. Our very own Project Jumpstart, a program known for empowering individuals in trade, won the MCCEI Community Partner of the Year Award. Other winners were Shelley Halstead of Black Women Build, Baltimore Gas & Electric, Michael DiGiacomo, Amy Rock of Prince George’s County Public Schools, and Hailey Brennan from the University of Maryland.
