What made you want to join the construction industry?
I was given a chance as a single mom at 19 by a woman who owned her own construction business and believed in me. She inspired me to stick with it.
What does being a woman in construction mean to you?
Being a woman in construction means being set apart. We are certainly in a male dominated industry but sometimes being different has it’s advantages.
How can you help educate young women that may be considering entering the industry or that don’t know about opportunities in the industry?
I would like for young women to know that there is room for them in this industry. When people hear construction, they think immediately of a hard hat and tool belt. I am here to tell you, there is so much more than that. And hey, if you want to throw on a hard hat and grab your tool belt, there is room for you there as well! Feel empowered and always know, no matter the table, there is room for you.
