What made you want to join the construction industry?

I was originally in the banking industry and just stumbled into the construction arena. After joining Harkins, I realized there was so much to learn and so many different paths that I could take depending on my interest. I’ve had the opportunity to work in the field and in the office and continue to expand my knowledge base every day.

What does being a woman in construction mean to you?

As a woman in construction today, there are countless open doors and it’s no longer intimidating. It’s an exciting time to be a part of history being made and to work with so many dynamic, ambitious, determined, and inspiring women.

How can you help educate young women that may be considering entering the industry or that don’t know about opportunities in the industry?

With technology becoming integral to the construction process, I believe this will continue to attract and draw the attention of more and more females. I’ve been fortunate to support workshops with young entrepreneurs, participate in summer programs, and recruit and introduce the industry to high school students.
