Company:
Ariosa & Company LLC

Job Description:
I am involved with a variety of functions at Ariosa & Company. I am the Service Department Coordinator and am also involved with Project Management and Accounting. I have recently become more involved with the estimating department and continue to expand my knowledge regarding mechanical contracting and the field of construction.

How did you get involved with WABC/ABC?
As a former BCPS high school math teacher, I was looking for a professional trade organization committee in which my prior experiences and skills would be of use. I was immediately drawn to WABC and the ABC Education & Training Committee based on their commitment to not only enhancing opportunities for women in the field of construction, but also a dedication to supporting the future of construction through local high schools and training programs.

What is your passion as a committee member?
My passion as a WABC committee member is centered around outreach and providing female students exposure to the limitless possibilities offered by a career in construction. My experiences in the classroom allow a unique perspective on how to connect with teachers, counselors, and students in order to foster an interest in a field that is frequently overlooked by females.

What are your goals for the future of WABC/construction industry?
I look forward to working with WABC to continue to provide students with field trip opportunities to visit active job sites and the chance to network with women in different aspects of construction. It is my hope that through our events and relationships with Maryland schools, students will continue to take advantage of the WABC Scholarship and mentorship opportunities. Together we strive to move towards decreasing the workforce shortage and capitalize on the incredible potential that lies within the young people of our neighborhoods.

What hobbies/interests do you have?
I greatly enjoy cooking and reading. I loved partaking in the WABC Golf Clinic and occasionally participate in sporting clay events with friends. Recently, I have rejoined the yoga community and look forward to progressing in my practice.
